Boyd Rice & Friends
"Disneyland Can Wait"
Boyd Rice is a complicated, misunderstood guy. A
one-time San Franciscan, central to American industrial culture, a noise
and performance artist, and cultural critic, he is best known for his
ambiguous, misanthropic monologues. He has at one time or another been
called "the most hated man in America" which could only be
true if anyone had ever heard of him. His work is kitschy, irreverent,
ironic, yet sinister. Some of his detractors fail to recognize the central
romantic vision: civilization's decline, stifling conformity and the
death of creativity.
